Turkish Airlines – mit Genuss und Komfort ans Ziel
Die Reise von Turkish Airlines begann vor 81 Jahren mit nur fünf Flugzeugen. Heute fliegt die Airline mit 265 Maschinen über 300 Ziele an, und das Ende der Reise ist noch längst nicht in Sicht. Die Airline gehört seit 2018 zu der Star Alliance Gruppe und hat zahlreiche Auszeichnungen erhalten. Das sechste Jahr in Folge bekommt die Airline die Auszeichnung „Europas beste Airline“ – selbst die Sitze in der Premium economy wurden bereits ausgezeichnet. Besonders nennenswert ist die großzügige Lounge in Istanbul und das kulinarische Angebot in der Business Class, welches ebenfalls von Skytrax mehrmals ausgezeichnet wurde.
Ich bin bereits mehrmals mit Turkish Airlines geflogen, da die Anbindung über Istanbul aus Deutschland für Langstreckenflüge optimal ist. Der Aufenthalt ist meist recht kurz und die Flugzeiten angenehm für längere Reisen. Insgesamt fliegt Turkish Airlines 302 Flughafen weltweit an und ist damit die Fluggesellschaft, welche die meisten Länder anfliegt als jede andere Airline.
Mein Flug ging dieses Mal von Berlin über Istanbul nach Male. (VIDEO zur Lounge inklusive)
Hier die Grundlegenden Informationen zu meinem Flug von Berlin nach Istanbul :
Flugzeugtyp : A321 – 200 (Insgesamt 24 Flugzeuge in der Flotte)
Flugdauer : 3,5 Stunden
Klasse: Hinflug Business Class / Rückflug Economy Class
Konfiguration: Hinflug 2-2 /Rückflug 2-4-2
Merkmale der Business Class – Kurzstrecke (Können je nach Flugzeugtyp variieren)
Die Business Class bei einem Kurzstreckenflug im Vergleich zu einem Langstreckenflug unterscheidet sich meist im Wesentlichen in der Konfiguration der Sitze und der Art der Sitze ( meist keine Full Flat Seats – keine waagerechte Liegefläche). Dieses ist jedoch vollkommen ausreichend, da der Flug hier auch nur wenige Stunden dauert und die Sitze daher nicht mit einer Schlaffunktion ausgestattet sind. Wichtig ist jedoch der Sitzabstand, der mit 81 cm Länge und ca. 51-56 cm Sitzbreite berechnet ist und damit deutlich mehr Platz im Vergleich zu anderen Airlines bietet.
Die in der Mittelkonsole befindliche Armlehne ist so konzipiert, dass sie in Trennwandposition als Leselicht benutzt werden kann. Die Sitze haben alle eine Leselampe und Beleuchtung unter der Armlehne und eine elektrische Massageeinheit, die über die Fernbedienung bedient werden kann. Auf internationalen Flügen dürfen Gäste in der Business Class 40 kg pro Person befördern.

Merkmale der Economy Class – Langstrecke (Können je nach Flugzeugtyp variieren)
In allen zwei Klassen hat der Gast die Wahl zwischen mehreren regelmäßig wechselnden, warmen Bordmenü-Angeboten wie zum Beispiel Fleisch-, Fisch-, Huhn/Pute- und Nudel-Gerichten und einem reichhaltigen Angebot an Alkoholischen und Nichtalkoholischen Getränken.
Auf Wunsch können bis 24 Stunden vor Abflug Sondermenüs bestellt werden. So stehen neben vegetarischen Menüs aus speziellen Mahlzeiten für Kinder und Kleinkinder, auch medizinische Mahlzeiten. Das Essen bei Turkish Airlines besonders in der Economy Class ist wirklich hervorragend und lecker.
Auf internationalen Flügen dürfen Gäste in der Economy Class 30 kg pro Person befördern und das ist für mich schon ein Hauptgrund, warum ich gerne mit dieser Airline fliege. Besonders nennenswert sind auch die Werte der Sitze. Der durchschnittliche Wert (laut Seatguru) liegt bei 73,7 cm Sitzabstand. Turkish Airlines bietet 5 cm mehr und zusätzlich Fußstützen, die tatsächlich ähnlich wie bei der Deutschen Bahn für mehr Komfort beitragen. Wer öfter über 8 Stunden im Flugzeug sitzt, der wird dieses Detail sehr schätzen.
Für das aktuelle und umfangreiche Entertainment System gibt es tatsächlich keine Mini – Ohrstöpsel, sondern angenehme Kopfhörer, die bei geringer Geräuschkulisse einen guten Klang bieten.

Hier ein kurzes Video aus der Lounge :
Ein Stopover in Istanbul von ca. 3 Stunden (in meinem Fall) ermöglicht den Passagieren mit einem (Departure) Ticket der Business Class (Für Elite- und Elite Plus und Gold Star Alliance Memeber) den Zugang zu der Lounge. Die Passagierlounge bietet neben kulinarischen Köstlichkeiten jede Menge Service und Annehmlichkeiten für kürzere und längere Aufenthalte.
Ab einer Wartezeit von 4-7 Stunden auf den Anschlussflug ( Dauer des Fluges mind. 8 Stunden) können die Passagiere Hotelkomfort in den Loungeigenen Suiten geniessen.
Videospiele, Snookertische, ein Golfsimulator, eine Autorennbahn durch die schönsten Gegenden Istanbuls und ein Kino sorgen für kurzweiligen Zeitvertreib. Für den Genuss sorgen mehrere Frischestationen und Theken mit wirklich sehr leckern landestypischen Köstlichkeiten. Die Lounge ist auf zwei Ebenen verteilt und bietet viel Platz zum Arbeiten, Entspannen oder einfach nur geniessen.
Mein Flug ab Istanbul nach Male in der Business Class (Langstrecke) :
Die Business Class Strecke bietet Full Flat Sitze mit einem Neigungswinkel von 180°, einem Sitzabstand von 155 cm und einer Sitzbreite von 53cm. Einem komfortablem Schlaf steht hier nichts im Wege . Bereits vor dem Start wird ein Begrüßungsgetränk serviert und nur wenige Minuten nach dem erreichen der Flughöhe mit dem Service begonnen. Erfreulich fand ich die kurze Wartezeit bis zum Service, und die individuelle Betreuung der Passagiere. Die Flugbegleiter sind den Passagieren zugeordnet und sprechen diese freundlich mit Namen an. Zum Komfort in der Business Class gehören qualitativ hochwertige Kopfhörer mit Rauschunterdrückung und guten Sound. Diese kann man auch ohne Entertainmentsystem für den Schlaf nutzen, da diese tatsächlich die Kabinengeräusche auf ein Minimales reduzieren. Bei Menü stehen drei Hauptgerichte zur Auswahl und jede Menge Snacks und Getränke auf de Karte. Meine Empfehlung sind hier die landestypischen Köstlichkeiten zu probieren.
Das Entertainment System bietet neben aktuellen Filmen , zahlreichen Serien, Musik und Dokumentationen an. Für einen komfortablen Schlaf wird der Sitz in eine waagerechte Position gebracht und ein weiches Kissen und die Decke sorgen für gemütliche Ruhestunden an Board. Die Sitzbreite und Länge ist für einen Passagier mit einer Körpergröße bis zu 1,90m angenehm bequem.

In Male staut sich leider die Abfertigung, da hier mehrere Flieger fast zeitgleich landen und die Schlange schnell länger wird. Egal ob in der Business Class oder Economy Class, die Werte sprechen eindeutig für sich. Die Auszeichnung von Skytrax zu „Europe’s Best Airline“ mehrere Jahre in Folge kann ich nur unterstreichen. Bis zum 5 mal täglich fliegt Turkish Airline ab Berlin bis Istanbul und bietet damit ein perfektes Drehkreuz für internationale Verbindungen zu einem guten Preis an.
