Here we are with the second part of my experience in Canada – Let’s explore Prince Edward Island and meet Ann of Green Gables!

From Nova Scotia i took a ferry ride about 45 minutes to get to Prince Edward Island and this was the first view that i get.
20150729_173641_resizedOn the way to the Hotel i had to stop again few times as it was like in a book. The Landscape looks like  a beautiful postcard.

_DSF1201-2

Of course i couldn’t resist to take a closer picture of that lighthouse which i spotted from the ferry arriving at the Island.20150729_183052_resized

A perfect reflection of the lighthouse in the red sand. It was a different view of the Island that i expected.

As i arrived at the Hotel, which was a pretty cute Inn, i was so happy to spend the next days here. Situated in the City of Charlottetown close to the harbour and all the attractions.

Thats the „Cranford In“,my place for the next days – which makes you feel like home. Martha & Vicki are the perfect host and prepare the best breakfast in the world (everyday fresh and homemade)

The next day i started my journey in the west part of the island – Te central coast drive route, which is about 196km.

Beautiful red sand shores runs along the Island crossing the PEI National Park and Cavendish. Guess its the most scenic drive i have ever seen and probably the most travelled road on that island too.

IMG_7602-2

I never saw a beach like this – its like a painting with the red sand. Driving that scening road i stopped next at the Cavendish Beach.

20150730_120025

Just crossing the bridge and take a walk  at the big wide beach._DSF1227-2This view makes you feel free and relaxed at once. Big green dunes and miles of sand for a big walk at the beach.

As i had bit time and went down to the beach and stepped into the fresh water. On my way back i found that little sweet crab.

20150730_114936_resizedExploring Canada in Prince Edward Island is a very special feeling – you become one with that beautiful nature and you can feel that is real. No stress, no busy highways – everything is just peaceful and relaxing.

Next stop along the coast was North Rustico: Home of the world-famous Fisherman`s Wharf Lobster Suppers.

20150730_124724_resized The nearby National Park offers pristine sandy beaches for sun-seekers while neighboring Cavendish offers a wide variety of shopping venues, restaurants and other attractions. Its a good mix enjoying your holidays – having fun and relaxing at the same time.

Who knows Ann of Green Gables ????

20150730_111902_resized

Thats her house 🙂 I loved Ann when i was younger and watching that TV Series – and now i was able to see her house in real and walking through the haunted woods where she spend her time.

20150730_112348_resized

I am not sure if this was her room, but i was a crazy experience to see that room with all the interior that i just knew from the TV and remember me watching the series.
20150730_112253_resized

This was maybe a part of the kitchen where Ann was eating ? During my visit she was outside in the haunted woods and bit shy, thats why i don’t have a picture here of her.

My last stop on the way back was the huge Confederation Bridge:

IMG_7620-2

It links Prince Edward Island with mainland New Brunswick and is 12.9km and the longest bridge in the world that  is crossing ice-covered water.

Now it was time to explore the East Coastal Drive which was about 475km – ok i wasn’t driving the whole route, but a big part of it.

20150730_155754_resized

If you like to do watersport activities you should go too Souris, a town, which is located in Kings County in the eastern portion of Prince Edward Island20150731_140505_resized

You can go for a walk or have fun with doing some paragliding at the beach. I fall in love with that beaches in Prince Edward Island as they are so huge and  there is enough space for a long walk.I found that stairway to heaven 🙂
20150731_121435

Which leads me to that beach view- Sorry but i can’t get enough of that pure nature feeling._DSF1211-2Yes i have plenty images more of those beaches but i will keep them for me and show you some more places.

In the evening i decided to drive to the PEI national park to catch the sunset.

20150730_200439_resized

My first stop was that small Lake – Dalvay by the sea. Amazing colors reflected in the sea with a magic view.20150730_201234_resizedI sit down for few minutes to enjoy the sunset. This house in the background is also a oceanfront resort and is perfectly located.

20150730_202930_003_resized

Catching a sunset is a speedy thing as you don’t have that much time.  Was impressed by the beach during the sunset that i almost forgot about that majestic lighthouse in the dunes.

20150801_193621_resized

The kids on the beach were still jumping into the water and having fun. The water wasn’t that cold though.20150730_203829_resizedMy last shot on this last evening was the Lighthouse in the PEI National Park.

Yes my last evening in Prince Edward Island before i had to leave next day back to Germany.

20150731_204155_resized I spend the early morning at the harbour of Charlottetown enjoying the view.20150731_204708_resizedDo you see that blue small house ? Its Cows Ice-cream shop- the best Ice-cream in Canada 🙂

20150802_150420

I will miss that Island and hope to come back one day again.

I have to mention dear Kelly, who was my lovely and very patient guide for the first days. Thanks so much Kelly and also Craig Sullis from the tourism office who took care every day. It was a big pleasure meeting you both 🙂

Thanks also again to:

for a fantastic adventure with so many beautiful impressions  – Canada is definitely more than huge mountains and lakes – its also a picturesque postcard with gorgeous landscape and fantastic activities for everyone and for a special adventure meeting Ann of Green Gables!

11817080_10153055335928603_2192655654199773544_n

Also eben ein kurzer 🙂

20150730_114936_resized

20150731_204155_resizedMein letzter Tag in Charlottetown.

Besonderer Dank geht an:
