Lasst uns Kanada Entdecken! Der erste Teil der Reise geht nach Nova Scotia oder wie ich es sagen würde – das grüne Paradies!
Nach 6 Monaten bin ich wieder in Kanada gelandet – Dieses Mal startet meine Reise jedoch in Halifax.
Nach 8 Stunden Flug war ich in der Stadt “Halifax” angekommen wo ich auch für einen Tag bleiben würde. Aber zunächst musste ich etwas Schlaf nachholen und zwar im Hotel: The Prince George Hotel

Ganz früh am nächsten Morgen ging ich gleich zum Hafen, um zu schauen welcher Anblick mir sich hier bietet.
Der Hafen ist nicht sehr groß und ich schlenderte etwas herum und wartete bis die Sonne sich zeigte.
Gegen 6 Uhr sah ich endlich die ersten Farben, jedoch keine ganze Sonne.
Ich war trotzdem von den Farben begeistert und machte mich wieder auf den Weg zum Hotel.
Nach einem guten Frühstück konnte die Tour in Nova Scotia beginnen. Der erste Stop führte mich am malerischen Ort – genannt Peggy’s Cove, wohl geformte Granitfelsen und ein Leuchtturm machten die Landschaft hier so besonders.
Man kann hier wunderbar klettern und bis zur Kante hochsteigen, um die wunderbare Aussicht zu genießen.

Nach einer gründlichen Erkundungstour musste ich leider in Richtung Luxemburg weiterfahren. Beim Einfahren in die Stadt konnte ich meinen Augen nicht trauen, was für eine farbenfrohe & hübsche Stadt das war. Luxemburg ist in einen Farbkasten gefallen – alle Häuser waren bunt. Zahlreiche kleine Geschäfte und tausende von gemütlichen Restaurants im besonderen Flair.
Rasch suchte ich einen Parkplatz und checkte schnell im Hotel ein: The Mariner King.
Meine Güte, selbst das Zimmer war so gemütlich eingerichtet und ich wäre am liebsten gleich in Bett gesprungen.

Naja, der Tag war noch jung und sehr sonnig und zu meiner Freude spielte sich am Hafen ein großes Piratenfest ab. das konnte ich mir nicht entgehen lassen.

Am Abend hatte ich das Vergnügen im: Fleur de Sel Restaurant & Maison zu Abend zu essen. Der Anblick auf den Nachbartisch liess mir das Wasser im Munde zergehen. Was für Köstlichkeiten!

Der nächste Tag führte mich weiter nach Cape Breton und die Stadt Inverness. Über eine Brücke ging es auf die Halbinsel und malerische Ausblicke boten sich schon bei der Anfahrt. Um den Hunger zu stillen, ging es daher gleich zu Mittag in das The Celtic Music Interpretive Centre . Das habe ich hier nicht erwartet – Keltische Musik und richtiges festliches Essen.Traditionelle Musik im Keltischen Stil und dazu ein kleines Museum im Hinterzimmer (hier versuchte ich übrigens einige Schritte des Keltischen Tanzes)

Cape Breton wird oft als Herzstück von Nova Scotia bezeichnet. Wer hier nicht nie gewesen ist, sollte sich diesen Ort ganz groß auf die Liste schreiben. Folgt mir auf meiner Reise und ihr werdet sehen warum…

Aber erstmal hieß es Koffer abstellen im: The Sunset Island Resort in der Nähe vom Margaree Hafen.

Ich hatte meine eigene kleine Hütte mit direkten Blick auf die Bucht. Es war klar, das ich am morgen mir hier den Sonnenaufgang anschauen musste, auch wenn das Wetter nicht das beste war. Ein herrlicher Ausblick und die Sonne ging auch auf und liess die Landschaft erstrahlen. Ich war glücklich und kehrte zunächst noch auf einen gemütlichen Kaffee auf meiner Veranda.

Auf meiner Erkundungstour musste ich ungelogen alle 2 Minuten anhalten, da ich von dieser grünen Landschaft und der Umgebung angezogen wurde. Auf Instagram habe ich diesen Ort “Das grüne Paradies” gennant – mit Recht verdient, wenn ich um mich blickte.

Jetzt kommen wir aber zu dem Cape Breton Highland National Park, der einfach nur wunderschön ist und nach einer kleiner Wanderung einen spektakulären Ausblick bietet.

Nach knapp 1 Stunde durch kleine Wälder an Elchen vorbei, die einen heimlich beobachten und an 300 Stufen vorbei, erreicht man endlich diesen Punkt mit einem gigantischen Ausblick.

Ich kann es nur empfehlen sich die Route genau anzugucken und einen Abstecher in den Park zu machen. Alleine die Fahrt dort hin wird euch die Sprache verschlagen.

Cape Breton ist so besonders, dass eins Alexander Graham Bell folgendes sagte: “Ich bin schon auf der ganzen Welt gewesen. Ich habe die Kanadischen und Amerikanischen Berge gesehen, die Anden und die Alpen, die Highland von Schottland, aber die einfache Schönheit von Cape Breton betrifft alles.”
Der letzte Tag in Nova Scotia sollte etwas besonders für mich werden – davon hatte ich beim Frühstück in der lokalen Donwstreet Coffee Company noch keine Vorstellung:

Das kleine Städtchen war einfach nur gemütlich mit bunten Häusern am Hafen, so süss und faszinierend, dass ich fast mein wichtiges Treffen vergessen hatte, aber nur fast.

Ok, es war das erste Mal im Leben, dass ich einen richtigen und ganzen Lobster in der Hand hatte und diesen auch auseinander nehmen musste. Nach dem fünften hatte ich auch meinen Spaß daran (bin mir nicht sicher aber der Lobster auch).
