Instagram Bologna Welcome

Together with Jörg @jn , Thomas @melbondo, Savtekin @diaphragm, Gabriele @inanutshell, Simone @brahmino i was invited by the tourism bord “Bologna Welcome” to see that amazing race “Mille Miglia” and explore the wonderfull city.

I arrived together with Jörg and Thomas after a short flight at the Airport. Simone & Pierpaolo were waiting for us at the airport to drive us to the city center when the journey could start.

We just met Valentina from the Tourism bord at the Bologna Welcome (it’s  at the famous Piazza Maggiore, but i will show you the place later) point to leave our laguagge.  I was in love at the first sight with the streets, they reminded me a bit of Venice, but in a different color – just the brick red. Streets of Piazza Maggiore

Streets of Bologna

We walked through all the streets where you can find the food market every day. Yes in the small streets of Bologna at the Piazza Maggiore there is a food market.

Can you see the fresh pig ? 🙂Fresh food

Food Market

I guess that most of you know that the food in Italy is very good. But what i didnt know was that they have also very special & tasty Fiat chocolate. Yes they have! After the walk through the streets around Piazza Maggiore we went to “Majani” – this is a very special food store, where you can buy the best chocolate ever. You can find the shop in the Via de’ Carbonesi 5 in Bol0gna. It is a chocolate paradise, where we could taste some of the products.Majani

The next stop was at another food shop! Of course we need to taste something typical italian. You just need to to visit that shop called “Tamburini” . You will love it. Everything is fresh and all delicious italian food you always dreamed off.Tamburini

Tamburini

We had a special tasting of the food and wine and it was just amazing. You cant descibe that food with words or a picture, you need to go inside, smell the fresh food and eat this. I promise you , it is more than delicious. Tamburini

Now it was time to go back to the hotel and relax a bit and wait for the dinner. Lol, i am not kidding. It’s true.I guess when i go on writing about the food some of you will think i started i food blog. Thats why i stop and  don’t tell you anything about the delicious pasta and the red tasty italian wine in that cosy italian restaurant close to our hotel we had. It was a perfect evening for the first day in Bologna.

After the breakfast Simone picked us up for a landscape tour together with Savtekin. We had a perfect sunny day and i couldnt wait to see the landscpae of Bologna.  Our first stop was at the Santuario della Madonna di San Luca. Si, si. You know that i love to edit my pics and set up more color, but in this case it wasn’t needed as the colors has been so fresh.Santuario della Madonna di San LucaSantuario della Madonna di San LucaWhenever you are on a walk with Instagramers, there will allways be something that make you lough. This time we drove around that place to find some Wine – or Olive fileds but instead of this we found the cool lady in her Fiat 500 posing for us.  I would say : a picture speaks more than words in this case. Just take a look at enjoy :First we asked her to make a picture – she said yes.  This is a special moment when you see Instagramers capturing the special moment.Instagramers at workBut then the lady asked to help her. Here we are again and the Instagramers at work – you can call it mobile work too.Instagramers at workAnd here is the result of a very funny and special moment of Instagramer at work – kind of behind the scenes. The resultNow you can imagine how funny it is to explore places with instagramers, and how much work it is to capture a very spcial moment. It is not only see a place and push the camera button. There is allways a big story behind. Ok, not allways.  To capture a perfect landscape image is realy easy when you are in Bologna, i guess. I didnt need to edit that beautiful view.Landscpae

It was already afternoon and time for lunch as instagraming makes you hungry. We need to hurry up a bit as it was the day of the race.
Lunch at Camera a Sud

Camera Sud

This is how it lookes like when Instagramers are hungy. Big fresh Burger and big beer.
After the Lunch we had enough energy (i thought it would be like this, but read more) to climb up the two towers at Piazza di Porta Ravegnana, called Due Torri. The towers are tradictional symbol of Bologna and the Asinelli tower has an inner staircase of 498 steps.
Due Torri
Ok then let’s go for a walk and see the city from above. After 15 – 20 minutes i reached the top. It sounds long and hard but you can take a break and watch other people trying to reach the top.
Now i saw the beautiful city and was impressed by the color of the houses at all. It is worth it to walk the 500 stairs to see that view. I was looking for the Piazza Maggiore and realized that it was time to leave and prepare for the big event – the Mille Migla 2014.

19.30h –
the arrival of the cars.
Everyone was waiting for the cars which started already few days before with the famous race. Mille Miglia 2014 design the race along the magical scenery of Italian territory, going from Brescia to Rome and then back again.
Sorry for the quality of the images, but the cars arrived bit late and it was almost dark and i forgot my tripod.
But the impression of all cars coming and parking around the Piazza Maggiore and Piazza re Enzo was a special moment. Everone was celebretaing the teams arriving and was trying to capture one of the cars.

Together with the drivers and their teams we finished the evening with a dinner at the  Palazzo Re Enzo.
