One Week in Nevada – My Instagram Experience! From Las Vegas to San Francisco.
First Stop in Las Vegas at the Airport: This is what you find directly at the airport. Lets start the game 🙂
Thats not a joke – this is the Airport in Las Vegas.
First + Second Day: Las Vegas , Overnight at Circus Circus Hotel
Circus Circus Hotel in Las Vegas – This Hotel is downtown and very big inside. You can find also a roller coaster inside. It takes about 20 minutes from the Airport to the Hotel.
Walking the Las Vegas Strip you find many attractions.Litte Venice with the famous Rialto Bridge.
The famous Caesar Palace wich is close to the Bellagio Hotel with a big fontain show every 30 minutes.
I was happy to find the Harley Davidson Cafe with a small shop inside.
In the evening the city is lightning like 10000 stars. Thats not Paris – its just the small edition of Paris and the Eiffel Tower. Las Vegas is crazy.
Each building is shining in different colors. This was taken in front of the Bellagio Hotel.
I have lost 20 $ after 2 hours at that machine 🙂 Each Hotels offers you free voucher for a casino – just ask the reception.
Don’t forget to visit one of the casinos inside the Hotels. You can also find some gambling machines at Starbucks 🙂
Even McDonalds is a big light show in Las Vegas.
This is the Venetian part of Las Vegas. Very clean and beautiful.
In front of the Treasure Island you can find a big ship lightening in different colors.
The walk took about 5 hours from the Hotel downtown. You can take the bus or walk if you like to see all the attractions in one day.
Each Hotels offers either Valet Parking or self service – I prefer self parking as it was bit crowded sometimes.Next day it was time to see the shark Reef Aquarium at Mandala Bay. Its a good attraction to go with the family.
You are walking through different gals tubes where you can see some sharks swimming. They are coming very close and you can see many of them.
On the way back i stopped at the Harley Davidson shop again to buy some shirts as they are way much cheaper then in Germany.
Lunch time in one of the restaurants at the strip close to little Paris. Tasty classic Burger & Beer for about 14$
Next Day: Las Vegas – Death Valley, ca. 140 Miles / 230 km , Overnight at Furnace Creek Ranch
The drive to the next Hotel take about 3-4 Hours as in Nevada there is a controlled speed limit (Average limit 55m/h)
Entering the Death Valley Park you have to pay a fee for the car which cost around 10$. Therefor you get the chance to drive through an amazing landscape.
I found that Dunes (Mesquite Dunes) which are about 10 miles away from The Hotel and look spectacular. Thats me enjoying the view in my reflective Jacket by Bench.
The view was really incredible as i didn’t expected to see Dunes around here. Most of the route leads through giant mountains in different colors.
This was just 5 minutes away from the Ranch. The Zabriskie Point – Composed of sediment from Furnace Creek Lake, which dried up nearly 5 million years ago, this jagged landscape was used to represent the surface of Mars in the film, Robinson Crusoe on Mars.
Finally arriving at the Ranch the weather was perfect to jump into the pool 🙂 The rooms have a small terrace where you can relax in the sun.
Can you see my room ? Its one of the sweet balcony. Its a very cosy and relaxing place and makes you feel like in a kind of western movie.
The food in the Ranch Restaurant was more then delicious. Grilled tasty big burger and of course a beer.
Next day : Visalia, 325 Meilen / 520 km , Overnight at Holiday Inn Conference Ctr-Visalia
Crossing green landscapes and driving many curved roads.
This is a typical road – what you don’t see is the curve behind the rocks and the next curve and the next…. with a speed limit of 25 miles /hour.
You have to stop very often as the landscape is changing lot.
Long and empty roads and a beautiful scenery is waiting for you in the Death Valley area.
After a 6 hours drive i could relax at the pool and prepare for tomorrow.
Next Day: Yosemite National Park , Distance 132 Miles / 211 km
Here we are finally. After you entered the park it takes you about 1 hour by car to reach the valley.
I am enjoying the view at a very sunny day – in my reflective jacket by Bench
Giant Mountains surrounding the park, which is quite large. Guess you can spend days here exploring the park.
After few hours in the park it was time for food that we don’t get in Germany 🙂 Tasty Bolognese fries with lot of cheese and some chicken baguettes 🙂
And before leaving – I went to the supermarket 🙂
Next Day: Lake Tahoe, Distance 200 Miles / 320 km- Overnight at Quality Inn & Suites South Lake Tahoe
On the way to Lake Tahoe i realized, that is getting colder and suddenly i found that place and small lake which was still covered with some snow.
Lake Tahoe was very close to that place – about 30 minutes away.
I arrived in the early afternoon and took my drone – DJI Phantom 2 Vision Plus sponsored by Droneparts to the Lake.
The Lake is huge, i drove about 40 minutes to find that silent place where i could fly around.
Just climb around and explore the Lake to find the best place. From this place the sunset was magical and changed the color to purple 🙂
This is Emerald Bay on the other side of the Lake.To get closer to that small island you have to take a walk for about 2 hours.
After a long day i ate the best fries ever. It was a kind of mexican place next to the hotel. Garlic fries with fresh salt and a big grill burger & Beer 🙂
Next Day: Reno, Distance 63 Miles / 100 km – the last stop before San Francisco
Yes Reno is a small city but they have also few big Casino Hotels in town which you should miss on a tour.
Goobye Reno – Goodbye Nevada – it was a fantastic journey with so many impressions and good food. Next time i have to stay in San Fransisco for few days and explore the city.
Many thanks for the organization of the fantastic journey and route to :
