I was invited by the South African Tourism and South African Airways for an amazing journey for eight days to dicscover South Africa and enjoy anothe Instagram experience.
Here we go, it was the first time for me and of course i was more then excited as i heared lot of different stories about South Africa.
Tired and still sleepy i was on the way to Frankfurt (by train) and couldnt wait to check in and fly too Johannesburg . From Johannesburg i took the next flight SA317 to Capetown. Yeeeeah, just remember that place from the german tv show “Bachelor”, although i didnt like the show i was watching it to see that amazing secenry of South Africa.
Monday, 20th may, 11.20 h :
Arrival in Capetown where Annie Delport, the tour guide was already waiting for me. First stop was of course the guesthouse “Rosedene Guest House” . It was so cosy and familiar in that house. After that long journey i was so happy to see that beautiful room with a perfect view to the Table Mountain.
13.00 h: time to go to the Table Mountain. Did you know it was recently voted one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature ? The cable car takes about four minutes to reach the top of the mountain. There are just two cable cars but each of them can carry 65 people.
Here we are, at the top of the mountain. I was speechless. Even i am afraid of heights, i forgot this for a moment and here is the result!
Whenever you visit Cape Town, dont miss that tour. The price for the ticket was round about 30 € for adults and takes you just 4 mintes to get there. This could be you next time. Instagramer at work !

Tuesday, 21st May, 10.00 h:
Today i would see the Cape of good hope for the first time. The route was incredible. The first stop was at Hout Bay – the bay is surrounded by mountains to the north, east and west and the southern Atlantic Ocean to the south. This view was just picturesque and i guess this was the view that i saw on the TV show that impressed me so much. This was another shot at Bantry Bay, which is known to be the most wind free area in Cape Town. This is an amazing Instagram experience so far.
It was time to visit the Cape of Good Hope. It is a section of the Table Mountain National Park, within which the cape of the same name, as well as Cape Point, falls. On the way through the Park i coudn’t resist to stop and try to capture of the male Ostrich which were runing around or running away when they saw me with the camera.
It was defintly much easier to capture of of the Baboons sitting at the street. I saw about ten Baboons on the way to the Cape point.
Finally i arrived at the top and apart from the spectacular view, you’ll be able to see the most powerful lighthouse on the South African coast, which helps guide ships safely through perilous waters that have seen to the end of many a vessel. Cape Point is open daily and is a must-see. Enter via the access gate to the Cape Point Nature Reserve. The reserve is open from 06h00 to sunset in summer and 07h00 to 17h00 in winter.
Next stop at Builder’s Beach to see the African pinguins chilling at the beach. They are so sweet when trying to catch the waves. It looks like they are having lot of fun. You cant realy go that close to see them, beacause the beach is protected and sourrounded by a visitors fence. But it was close enough to make some great images.
The last stop was at Muizenberg – Beach. Muizenberg has a fine, long beach that in effect stretches all the way round the top of False Bay to the Strand, a distance of over 20 km. False Bay, known for its population of White Sharks, also has a shark watch service that operates from Muizenberg, signalling alerts when sharks come in proximity of bathers and surfers. This day there were no sharks and i could go for swimming and walking around end enjoing the sun.
Wednesday, 22nd May:
Today i will drive to the Cedeberg Mountain, the region is only two hours from Cape Town and yet the landscape is completely different: wilder, warmer with a raw, dramatic beauty. For me it was more then different, but this i realized at night.I was walking in the mountains with not another person in sight, swimming in the waterfall and simply relaxing and enjoy the exhilarating peace of this unspoilt paradise.
On the way to the Cedeberg i was impressed every single minute by the big mountains and the spectacular view.
I spend the Night at the Cedeberg Guest Cottage. It was a bit scary at night. There was nothing around, i mean nothing – just nature and the big mountains watching you. At the same time it was a perfect place to relax and hear the sound of nothing. Whenever you need a break from the reality you shoud vist this place for few days. You dont even need a mobile as there is no connection at all. The only thing you can do is realx and explore the nature. This was a different experience for me as a social media nerd using my Iphone every hour. Not this time.
Friday, 24th May, 10.00h:
Let’s go to the surfers paradise – This was what i found as a description on Langebaan: If Langebaan were a cocktail, it would be blue curacao on speed. Icy, refreshing Langebaan Lagoon is an hour and half north of Cape Town and a popular weekend or short getaway destination in South Africa for watersport fanatics and nature lovers. Sound good, i like coctails.
On the way to Langebaan we passed at the Misty Cliffs, i am not kidding: it looks like this without an edit. Just misty 🙂
Arrived at the evening in the Farmhouse Hotel and went tired to bed. I was happy to see that coy room with another fantastic view. Right now i was ready to fall asleep and dream about the next day.
Saturday, 25th May, 10.00h:
The morning was very foggy thats why we decided to go to the beach first and then to the National Park. It was a paradise for all Instagramers who cant get enough of #foggy #misty images 🙂 Just take a pic and upload #foggymorning.
What else can i say about South Africa, except that i saw so many different places and i am still impressed by the wonderfull nature. There is one recomandation for all who love food and especially are in love with quality steaks 🙂
Here is my last impression, i eat like everyday a steak and i am now the Steak master – i coudnt say which one was the best.
