First #Tuiphotowalk at the Club Magic Life Marmari Palace Imperial in Kos:
Let’s jump into the pool! Yes we all did!
9 Hotelguests , Me and Annika (Tui Deutschland GmbH) started the first photowalk in the Hotel. Kos is a very small island, as it tooks us about 10 minutes from the airport to the Hotel without a navigation. Big thanks to TUI CARS for the car, which we had during our stay in Kos for 4 Days.
This is the first group which had lot of fun shooting with smartphones and cameras.
The idea was to show some advices how to create a good holiday picture with a regular smartphone or a simple camera within few minutes.
Nikoleta (Guest Relations Manager) was already waiting for us at the reception with our keys to the rooms. I couldnt wait to leave my laguage and start exploring the hotel area. Thanks to Nikoleta for beeing so kind and lovely during the stay – if you ever visit that Hotel you should say hello to her 🙂
We met the first group at 16h at the reception and we explained what are we going to do and of course more details about the contest which was a part of the #tuiphotowalk. I guess everyone was excited and happy to start as soon as possible. We has also some “Instagramers” in the group.
We went to the first pool as the hotel area was really huge. There was a big animation pool with a bar inside, where you can enjoy daily water sports and of course some drinks too. We crossed the first pool and our firts stop was at the next pool, which was bit more empty.
This was taken during a very intense underwater shooting. We spend every minute to practise underwaterphotography (maybe for a next #photoswim 🙂
Do you see that small bridge ? Yes this was our first stop with all guests to try the first picture with my photography advices.
Here we are! I explained some basic photography rules – while taking a picture to have a 50/50 view – means 50 % Sky and 50 % Pool. The picture wil be devided naturally into two parts. This looks allways good.
Everyone was ready and taking pics from the bridge. I was walking around and taking a look for the first results. It was important as we were looking for the best holiday picture which can win a travel voucher of 200 € sponoserd by Tui Deutschland GmbH.
This is one of many great results! A fantastic picture divided into 2 parts again: 50 % Sky and 50 % pool. Well done!
Ok, the perspektive is of course very important and it can make a picture more interesting than a regular view. Thats why they are on their knees taking a picture of a coctail. That was it ? No – don’t forget to take a look at the focus while shooting a subject in that perspective 🙂
This was not only much fun, this looked even more fun! Yes the other hotel guests were starrring at us all the time, wondering what we are doing. We are starting to be professional Instagramers 🙂
Did i mentioned that is was stil very hot, about 35 degress ? Thats why we decided to jump into that pool. Ok , we didnt realy jump, but we all got in and learned the next important lesson abut photography with a smartphone. SELFIE! Yes lot of poeple are doing selfies during the holidays.
To create a better selfie, you need to check the light first. The guest started to turn round and find out what was the best light to make a selfie. This looks even more fun as a big group is turning around in the pool at the same time with their phones in the hand.
As you maybe know, i dont like selfies at all cos they never look good enough to show it. This time i am satisfied with the result and the guests did a great job.
It s very beautiful at the Hotel and i discovered some beautiful olive trees around which needed to be captured. Whenever you go on holidays don’t forget to take a look at details around you and maybe you wil lfind something special next time.
This is how i captured the olive trees. Again taking a look for a natural frame or divided into 2 pieces.
Crossing one of the last pools our next stop was the beach! The Hotel is surrounded by so many pools that you dont even notice that its holiday time. No crowded pools at all – this is how i like it!
Sorry that i forget to show you our branded shirts 🙂 This is how it looks like when we walk around with the guests and show them some secrets about photography.
After the photowalk was done, we went back to the reception and remined the guests about the hashtags and the contest. It was my first official guided photwalk and i was very happy that the people had lot of questions and has been very interested in the contest and the organized tour.
Annika and me enjoyed tha early evening taking some pics at the beach and waiting for the sunset. We met again some guest from the photowalk there. Together we had a coversation about sunsets, Instagram and photography. Now it was time to enjoy the evening and the dinner.
This amazing view you can ejoy every evening at the Hotel. I forgot to mention the fantastic greec food in the hotel. A healthy paradise for me as i love greec salat and fresh green olives.
Whenever you visit that hotel dont forget to say cheese and upload your picture! I promise you it will appear at the social wall in the hotel for sure.
Yes, this is the Social wall in the Hotel. Every picture which is tagged on Twitter or Instagram with #marmaripalace #clubmagiclife will appear here. Say cheese and dont foret to upload ur picture!
Thanks to Tui Cars and the very freindly women at the airport rental for the car which we used during our stay in Kos to drive from our Hotel to the other Hotels. Big thanks to Annika Ducksch and her collegues from
for the professional organisation of the first photowalk!
