Erholung und Schneespaß im “Home of Lässig”
Bisher kannte ich Saalfelden Leogang nur aus dem Bikesport. Diesen Winter durften wir zusammen mit TUI den Skicircus in Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn besuchen, der offiziell als das lässigste Skigebiet von Österreich bezeichnet wird. Aber auch abseits der 270 Pistenkilometer gibt es in dieser Ecke vom Salzburger Land einiges zu erleben. Von kulinarischen Highlights und Verwöhnprogrammen im SPA über Schneeschuhwanderungen und Rodeln bis hin zu weltklasse Sportevents zählt Saalfelden Leogang auch zu den vielfältigsten Wintersportgebieten Österreichs.

Das Skigebiet besteht derzeit aus drei, durch Lifte miteinander verbundenen, Regionen: Saalbach Hinterglemm, Saalfelden Leogang und Fieberbrunn (Zell am See wird bald auch noch verbunden). Jedes der Skigebiete hat seinen ganz eigenen Charakter:
- Saalbach Hinterglemm: Der lässigste Skiort Österreichs. Ski In – Ski Out: Skifahrer, Freerider und Snowboarder schätzen die perfekte Lage mitten im Skigebiet und das legendäre Après Ski.
- Saalfelden Leogang: Die kontrastreichste Urlaubsregion der Alpen zwischen Ländlichkeit und Urbanität. Saalfelden Leogang lockt mit vielfältigem Sport- und Lifestyleangebot auch abseits der Pisten.
- Fieberbrunn: Die vielfältigen Gegensätze von herrlicher Bergwelt und sanften Tälern zeichnen den Ort aus. Faszinierende Tiefschneehänge locken Offpiste Fans.
Mit insgesamt 270 km Pistenlänge, 70 modernen Liftanlagen und über 60 urigen Hütten ist das “Home of Lässig” also eine Destination für jeden Wintersportler. Selbst für Newschooler und Snowboarder die ihr Können im Funpark verbessern wollen, bietet NITRO mit seinem Snowpark in Leogang durch Workshops und kostenlose Snowboardtests großartige Möglichkeiten auch in diesem Bereich.
Von den 270km sind 140km blaue, 110km rote und 20km schwarze Pistenkilometer, was eine hervorragende Einteilung für Könner, Fortgeschrittene und auch Anfänger ist. Generell empfand ich Saalfelden Leogang als das Einsteiger-freundlichste Skigebiet von allen, da hier die Pisten auch sehr breit sind die Besucherfrequenz gefühlt am niedrigsten war.
Mit über 60 Hütten fällt die Auswahl für eine Mittagshütte denkbar schwer. Doch gleich an der Bergstation in Leogang befindet sich die “Hendl Fischerei”. Geführt von den lokalen Verwöhnexperten, dem Ehepaar Oberlader, die bereits im Tal mit ihrem Bergdorf Priesteregg die Gäste zum Staunen bringen, weiß man hier die Gäste mit einem grandiosen Blick, dem besten “Hendl” und fairen Preisen zu überzeugen.
Normalerweise gibt es in den höheren Lagen auch bei vielen Sonnentagen kein Grund zur Sorge. Dennoch bietet die TUI in ihrem Winterprogramm eine Schneegarantie, sodass auch Frühbucher auf der sicheren Seite stehen:
Sollten 7 Tage vor Anreise wegen Schneemangels nicht mindestens 75% der Lifte in dem Skigebiet des Zielortes mit Schneegarantie geöffnet sein, können Sie in der Zeit vom 07.01.2017 (erste Anreise) bis zum 01.04.2017 (letzte Abreise) bis 5 Tage vor Reiseantritt auf ein anderes TUI Hotels oder einen anderen Reisezeitpunkt gebührenfrei nach Verfügbarkeit umbuchen.

Während unseres Aufenthalts hatten wir das Glück, mitten im Ort und zwischen den zwei Gondelbahnen im neusten Designwunder von Saalfelden Leogang untergebracht zu sein. Das neue 4 Sterne Resort “Puradies” vereint unter dem Motto “Eine Welt für sich und dich” romantische Chalets, Zimmer und Suiten und bietet mit der Haubenküche von André Stahl und dem Badhaus “Innere Mitte” nicht nur für den Gaumen, sondern für den ganzen Körper und jegliche Sinne ein Wohlfühlprogramm der Extraklasse; Und das stets mit einem grandiosen Ausblick auf die Steinberge! Mit dem Haupt-und Badhaus, dem Neubau und den Chalets ist das Resort eine in die Bergwelt eingebettete Wohlfühl-Oase die von Familiengenerationen geführt wird und daher von Anfang an für eine gemütliche Atmosphäre und Entspannung gesorgt hat.
Im SPA Konzept hat mir persönlich für die kalten Abende und bei trockener Luft ein gemütlicher Jacuzzi im Badhaus gefehlt. Die nächste Baustufe im Puradies wird jedoch eine Erweiterung des Spa & Wellnessbereichs inkl. Pool sein. Außerdem trumpft das Badhaus mit gleich drei Stockwerken an Wohlfühlecken und mit insgesamt vier unterschiedlichen Saunen auf:
- Kräutersauna (ca. 70°)
- finnische Sauna (ca. 90°)
- Zirbensauna (Dampfsauna mit ca. 70°)
- Stollensauna (ca. 60°)
Das Resort erstreckt sich auf 500.000m² , verfügt über ein kleines Chalet-Dörfchen, 60 Suiten und Familiensuiten, zwei private SPA-Suiten (80m² mit Sundeckpool, Champagnerbar, Sauna und Erlebnisdusche), ein großer Badeteich für den Sommer, das Badhaus, ein Beautybereich, ein Fitness- und Yogaraum sowie ein aktiver BIO-Bauernhof. In den Suiten selbst hat man sich sehr viel Gedanken über Licht, Bequemlichkeit (Die Matratzen waren ein Traum!) und Platz gemacht. Das ist mir sehr positiv aufgefallen und in Erinnerung geblieben.

Abseits der Piste
Skigebiet Leogang hinten links mit den Steinbergen im Hintergrund
Wie eingangs erwähnt, bietet das vielseitige Skigebiet weit mehr als sein berühmtes Skigebiet. Vor allem Langlauf-Fans kommen auf 150km Loipennetz und mit Trainingsstrecken von Spitzensportlern wie Simon Eder oder Julian Eberhard voll auf ihre Kosten (durch teilweise Beleuchtung auch nachts). Das Wintererlebnisprogramm bietet allen Interessierten außerdem geführte Skitouren und Skitourencamps über die ganze Saison hinweg an.
Weitere Tipps für abwechslungsreiche Wintertage sind:
- Rodeln (3 Rodelbahnen, zwei davon beleuchtet bis 2:00Uhr und 22:30 Uhr)
- Besuch eines Sportevents (Wir waren bspw. beim White Style Contest am Abend wo sich Mountainbiker über Schnee-Kicker stürzen und um den besten Trick kämpfen)
- Flying Fox XXL
- Pferdeschlittenfahren
- Schneeschuhwandern
- Fackelwanderung
- Eislaufen auf Natur-Eis am Ritzensee
- Winter Wandern
- Museum Schloss Ritzen und Bergbau- und Gotikmuseum Leogang
- Wohlfühlangebote (Saunen, Massagen, Ayurveda, Lebensfeuermessung etc.)
Täglich steht den Gästen im Ort ein gratis Skibus-Service von 8:15-17:00Uhr zur Verfügung. Die Fluchtlichtpiste am Schanteilift in Leogang ist Mo,Do und Sa von 19:00Uhr bis 21:30Uhr geöffnet.
