10 Days Queensland & 10 Days of real Adventure with „wild“ animals!

I was already last year in Queensland and therefore i looked forward to my new exciting journey. Australia is known to be very large, so if you plan to visit Queensland you should stay al least few weeks to see the most important places and catch the beautiful impressions. Queensland is about five times as large as Germany and is located in the northeast of the continent.

But what would be Australia without Koalas ??? Of course you can see them here and ask for a chance to hold them, as i did. They are pretty heavy. This sweet lady is just one year old, but it feels like holding a big full of heavy stones in your arm.

Lady Elliot Island

Anyone traveling to Queensland, should definitely make a trip to Lady Elliot Island. This is the southern coral Island of the Great Barrier Reef with a very intact coral world. It’s a very short flight from Harvey Bay Airport – about 30 minutes and you can enjoy the real paradise feeling.

Should i ever come again to Queensland, i will definitely spend few days more on that Island to enjoy that real island feeling.

3. Fraser Island – K’gari (translation: Paradise)

Fraser Island is a part of Queensland and probably the largest sand island in the world. The Aborigines call it „K’gari“ , which means „paradise“. The Island is twice as big as the German Island Rügen and offers a wide range of different adventureus activities – that one that i did the next days.

The Beauty Spots Tour (4WD) started for us from the Kingfisher Bay Resort towards Lake McKenzie. The tour is spectacular as its a proper shaking bus tour through the woods on a sandy any bumpy road for about 50 minutes – happy they invented seat belts 🙂

I wouldn’t call Australian people crazy, but its more then incredible to see buses driving on the beach or even more planes landing for the next scenic flight. Thats not only kind of crazy but its unbelievable and even more worth it to visit Queensland.

Wanggoolba Creek – A walk through the rainforest

After the beschied ist time to get more junge feeling – therefore you should stop at „Wanggoolba Creek“ machen.

If you would ask me before hoe does a real tropical rainforest look like ? I would answer: Exactly like this!

Cairns – The tropical adventure

Cairns is probabaly the most famous place in Queensland and the 14th largest city in Australia. It well known for the tropical climate, thats why many people decide to visits Cairns too. Port Douglas is a great place to start different tours to the Great Barrier Reef . My schedule said : Explore the tropical part of Cairns and meet the Pythons and Crocodiles.

You will impressed how different this part of the journey is compared to the first one. Getting the chance to enjoy the luxury jungle life and doing it like real a backpacker in Australia does. I can not say which i like more as both experiences are nice to have for some reasons.

The Thala Beach Nature Reserve looks very magical at the first sight, but still very tropical and natural. It is a mixture of luxury and the natural way.

At the end a very special experience, as we were told about the daily visitor called #AppleTheWallaby . That cute Kangaroo was looking for food. If you want to see all videos and images done by guests – look out for #Appelthewallaby

If you would like to see him and feed him with bananas or sweet potatoes – you should stay here for few days – at the „Thala Beach Nature Reserve“

Daintree Rainforest & Cape Tribulation – The ultimate Australia experience!

Now its time for the real jungle adventure! Off to the jungle eating fruits and jumping like Tarzan! The Daintree Rainforest is 135 million years old, and the oldest rainforest in the world. Approximately 430 different species birds have their home here , and of course some pythons and crocodiles too.

It’s getting serious with the jungle life – No Wifi, no service at all and swimming in the pond with crocodiles !

Just few small wooden bungalows located in the forest, a crystal clear turquoise pond and some animal noises – that it! The topical humidity make the feeling real! i can recommend to stay here for 2 or 3 night to get this experience and feel one with the nature. Cape Tribulation Beach – This is my favorite – I would like to stay here few days more if i could !

The trip was already adventurous, exciting and sometimes bit scary for me, as i don’t like snakes or crocodiles at all. But the last days of my trip at Cape Tribulation Beach made the journey even more perfect.

This boat ride is nothing if you have a weak stomach! The captain enjoy the speed and the waves and you will feel every wave on the boat and in your face too 🙂 . It was the cooles boat ride i had even in my life. After my stomach get used to the speed and bumpy ride i enjoyed the music and the view while arrived at the Great Barrier Reef – 45 Minutes and we are at Mackay.

I am Stil thing about adding the video from the ride here… guess i will do this later !

Omg , thats it ! The journey is over here! I had 10 amazing adventurous days, and enjoyed especially the last days with my ladies. We were eating jungle fruits, waiting for snakes, jumping from one tree to another and at the end we made it! We survived in the jungle! This is why i need to write a special thanks to my ladies crew!

Dear Anne- Solange, Franzi, Cecilie and the best mummy in the world (thats how she called herself) „Tracy“. I miss you! You rock !

10 Tage Queensland und 10 Tage Abenteuer mit „wilden“ Tieren!

Ich war schon letztes Jahr in Queensland und freute mich daher umso mehr auf diese spannende Reise. Australien ist bekanntlich sehr groß, daher sollte man für einen Besuch in Queensland einige Wochen einplanen, um die wichtigsten Orte zu sehen. Ich zeige euch hier meine besten Momente und Impressionen aus dem wunderschönen Queensland.

Queensland ist etwa fünf mal so groß wie Deutschland und liegt im Nordosten des Kontinents.

Noosa und der Besuch im Australia Zoo – Home of the Crocodile Hunter

In der Show Arena gibt es immer wieder tolle Veranstaltungen mit verschiedenen Tieren.

Aber was wäre Australien ohne Koalas ????? Natürlich könnt ihr hier auch Koalas sehen und nach Möglichkeit auch halten. Diese kleine Dame war erst 1 Jahr alt, aber dafür relativ schwer. Es fühlt sich etwas an, als würde man einen Sack mit Steinen halten.

Lady Elliot Island

Wer nach Queensland reist, sollte definitiv einen Abstecher nach Lady Elliot Island machen. Das ist die südlichste Koralleninsel des Great Barrier Reefs mit einer sehr intakten Korallenwelt. Mit einem kleinen Flieger vom Flughafen Harvey Bay seid ihr in ca. 30 Minuten auf der kleinen Insel und könnt das richtige Inselleben geniessen.

Ein warmer Sonnenuntergang- Ausblick von meinem Bungalow

Sollte ich wieder nach Queensland kommen, werde ich definitiv einige Tage mehr auf der Insel verbringen und das echte Paradies Gefühl nochmal erleben. In 45 Minuten hat man die Insel zu Fuß erkundet und bekommt trotzdem nicht genug.

3. Fraser Island – K’gari (Das Paradies übersetzt)

Fraser Island gehört zum Bundesstaat Queensland und ist wohl die größte Sandinsel der Welt. Die Aborigines nennen sie K’gari – was übersetzt „Paradies“ bedeutet. Die Insel ist doppelt so groß wie Rügen und bietet eine große Auswahl an spannenden Aktivitäten, wie ich erleben durfte.

Die Beauty Spots Tour (4WD) startete für uns vom King Fisher Bay Resort in Richtung Lake McKenzie. Ihr werden ca. 1 Stunde in einem Bus richtig durchgeschüttelt und werden euch freuen, dass jeder Sitz Gurte zum Anschnallen hat. Die Fahrt geht durch den Wald über einen sandigen und sehr holprigen Weg (ehrlich – diese Busfahrt war einfach nur genial, ist aber nichts für einen empfindlichen Magen).

Ich will ja nicht sagen, dass die Australien verrückt sind, aber das ist echt unglaublich. Erst mit dem Bus am Strand entlangzuheizen und dann den Strand als Landebahn für einen Rundflug nutzen. Das ist nicht nur verrückt, sondern mehr als einen Ausflug wert. Diese Tour werde ich nicht so schnell vergessen.

Wanggoolba Creek – Eine Wanderung durch den Urwald

Wer nach der Strandtour etwas Dschungelfeeling bekommen möchte, sollte eine kleinen Stop am „Wanggoolba Creek“ machen.

So habe stelle ich mir irgendwie auch den Urwald vor 🙂 alles bedeckt von Farnen und Palmen, ein kleiner Bach und das einzige was man hören kann, sind die Geräusche der Tiere im Wald.

Mitten im Dschungel – einfach unglaublich was diese Insel zu bieten hat

Cairns – Das tropische Abenteuer

Cairns ist wohl der bekannteste Ort in Queensland (die Hauptstadt) und die 14. größte Stadt in Australien Das tropische Klima zieht viele Touristen an und von Port Douglas kann man das Great Barrier Reef sehr gut erkunden. Ich durfte das richtige „tropische“ und abenteuerliche Cairns erleben und war mitten im Dschungel ohne Netz mit Krokodilen und Python Schlangen gefangen.

Ihr werdet staunen, wie unterschiedlich der Teil der Reise war. Ich durfte Luxus Dschungel Gefühl erleben und das richtige Backpacker Feeling geniessen. Ich kann noch nicht sagen, was mir besser gefallen hat. Beides hat etwas besonderes gehabt.

Das Thala Beach Nature Reserve war auf den ersten Blick einfach magisch anzuschauen. Es war sehr luxuriös und trotzdem sehr natürlich. Das Resort und der Stand sind sehr weitläufig und trotzdem sehr natürlich.

Und zum Schluss eine ganz besondere Fütterung. Unter #Appelthewallaby is dieses Känguru sehr bekannt und es gibt zahlreiche Videos und Fotos wie im ins Resort hüpft und sich seelenruhig füttern lässt.

Daintree Rainforest & Cape Tribulation – Das ultimative Australien Erlebnis!

Jetzt ist Schluss mit lustig! Jetzt heisst es ab in den Dschungel und sich wie Tarzan von Baum zu Baum abseilen und die Früchte des Waldes essen. Dieses Stück paradiesischer Natur wurde nicht von ungefähr 1988 von der UNESCO zum „World Heritage Park“ (Erbe der Menschheit) deklariert.Der Daintree Rainforest ist mit 135 Millionen Jahren der älteste Regenwald der Welt. Er ist Bestandteil des 450 Kilometer langen Küstenabschnitts „Wet Tropics of Queensland“ zwischen Townsville und Cooktown. Ungefähr 430 verschiedene Spezies Vögel haben hier ihre Heimat. 13 dieser Vogelarten leben nirgendwo sonst auf der Erde und nicht zu vergessen: Krokodile & Python Schlangen!

Als Stärkung vor dem ersten Abenteuer stand heute folgendes auf dem Menüpunkt:

Gestärkt ging es dann zum Jungle Surfing mit den Mädels.

Bevor es zu der nächsten Unterkunft im Dschungel ging, gab es noch ein deftiges Busch Tucker Mittagessen :

Daintree – Heritage Lodge & Spa

Jetzt heisst es, rein in den Dschungel- WIFI aus (es gibt hier gar kein Netz) und rein ins kalte klare Wasser

Diese kleinen Bungalows mitten im Wald und der Kristall klare Bach ( diese Türkise Farbe kommt von bestimmten Mineralien), kein Netz und einfach die tropische Feuchtigkeit haben mich zu Beginn etwas erschreckt, da es doch etwas wild ist. Mein Fazit ist aber: Das ist Australien! Ihr müsst definitiv mal ein paar Nächte für dieses Erlebnis einplanen. Ihr fühlt euch danach einfach nur frei! Cape Tribulation Beach – Mein Favorit auf dieser Reise! Hier will ich nochmal hin!

Die Reise war bisher abenteuerlich, aufregend, lustig und auch mit viel Spaß verbunden (gelegentlich mal Angst vor den wilden Tieren), aber ich möchte den letzten Teil als meinen Sieger betiteln.

Schnorcheln, Jungle Feeling und Australien in einem!

Die Bootsfahrt ist sehr turbulent – nichts für den schwachen Magen und ihr werdet mehr als Nass – jede Welle wird gut anvisiert und mitgenommen, dafür sorgt der Fahrer, der richtig viel Spass hat. Nach wenigen Minuten, wenn sich euer Magen beruhigt hat werdet ihr einfach nur die coolste Bootsfahrt eurer Reise haben. Nach ca. 45 Minuten ist man dann am Great Barrier Reef und zwar am Mackay angekommen. Ihr bekommt hier eure Brille und die Flossen und dann ab ins Wasser. (ich überlege noch ob ich hier bald das Video von der Bootsfahrt einstellen sollte)

Wieder zurück erwarteten uns unsere Bungalows & die der Hinweis auf die Python Schlagen, die sich hier rumtreiben. Das nenne ich doch mal Abenteuer! Zum Glück habe ich keine gesehen, nur gehört, wie sie von meinem Dach auf die Terrasse gefallen ist.

So das war’s jetzt! Ich habe 10 tage voller Abenteuer erlebt und besonders ans Herz gewachsen ist mir meine letzte Mädels Gruppe, mit der ich die letzten Tage im Dschungel ums Überleben gekämpft habe. Und hier kommen die Stars 🙂
